Tush Wheely was found on a bike path in North Baltimore, Ohio by two girls riding their bikes.
They called countless rescue organizations in their area but no one was willing or able to help this cat, who was panting from dehydration and starving to death. He was in need of medical attention and looked very "rough" they said.
They called a vet’s office, Tri County, who suggested they call S.P.A. in Fremont, Ohio. They know of a big sucker who is part of this organization who has a hard time saying no to special needs cases. One of the girl's sister works at Tri County.
PLEASE CONSIDER DONATING TO TUSH WHEELY'S MEDICAL EXPENSES!

There are hundreds of humane societies across the U.S. and they have no connection with each other. Some are no kill organizations, some aren't. Some are non-profit, 501(c)3 organizations, others are not. Some humane societies are actually part of their county's paid employees, but most humane societies are locally formed, independent organizations and are comprised of unpaid volunteers. Most volunteer-based organizations rely on contributions of volunteers and private donations. Each organization sets up its own rules and guidelines.

S.P.A. Volunteers Teach Jewels to Trust Again! Jewels Needs a Loving Forever or Foster Home!
Jewels was at the pound and hid in the back of her cage. When someone approaced her, she growled and barked.
Jewels has responded well to walks in the park, hugs, and treats. All she needed and wanted was a little love... she is now wagging, giving frequent kisses, and has stopped blinking and pulling away from us when we reach our hand out to pet her.

Jewels was picked up by the dog warden as a stray. She appeared to have recently given birth, but her puppies were not with her when she was picked up. Jewels is a special needs sweetheart.
She seems quite frightened by human beings. There must be a reason for that.
Those who strike out aggressively towards animals have long been recognized as those who are dangerous to other family members.
You know... the mentally distraught, insecure and totally screwed-up people who literally "hurt" the ones they love the most?
Many of these abused, innocent, castaway animals are the toss-aways who end up in kill shelters.
It's the end of the road for them... (and they were never even given a chance)...
These are the ones that are often overlooked by potential adaptors... and sometimes, I think that is a big mistake.
Take Jewels, for instance...

THIS IS A COURTESY POST for a wonderful, senior woman who has to move to California to be cared for by her daughter.
She is unable to take her very best friend, Celeste, and was very upset on the phone when she said, "I certainly hope I don't have to have her euthanized."
Her love for this dog was apparent. Throughout our entire conversation she paused, tried to fight back her tears (and couldn't), and then continued explaining to me that she has no one to leave her dog with.
I told her S.P.A. would do everything we could to find a perfect home for this sweet girl. She will be leaving for Calilfornia in a couple of weeks.
