SAMMIE UPDATE:

Sammie was rescued by S.P.A. volunteers in 2005. She was adopted by a wonderful couple who live in Huron, Ohio and there only complaint is that she takes up too much room in their bed each night!

DANAUS - The Rescued Butterfly

The other day my husband, Terry, was blowing huge piles of leaves that the swirling, shifting Autumn wind had deposited directly outside of our Ohio Room door. Most people call rooms like this their "Florida Room," but we decided that that the name "Florida Room" simply didn't fit this very special room attached to our house here in Ohio.

HIT BY CAR AND LEFT FOR DEAD THE DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS

OLIVIA UPDATE:

Olivia was rescued by S.P.A. two years ago. Olivia's story was written at that time. Although the story reads in present tense, please keep in mind that her rescue took place two years ago. She was adopted by Sergeant Curtis where she continues to live the happy "doggie" life that she was looking for!

I was at the local animal hospital one day and saw a cat in a cage who was curled up in the far corner and looked like he was in pain. A sign was hung on his cage which read "SANDUSKY COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY WILL PAY $20.00 LIMIT".

DECEMBER 07 - Rhino's New Life - Teamwork saved this precious boy!

As many of you know, Rhino was dropped off at the pound here by his prior owner. She said she had MS and that she couldn't care for Rhino anymore.

DECEMBER 07 - BERT & ERNIE UPDATE

Bert and Ernie are the two very tiny, couple week old kittens who I picked up from the trailer outside of Fremont. Ernie was half dead and covered with fleas. They were both crusty with urine and feces and the vet said they were in a very weakened state.

An S.P.A. volunteer came upon "Double Yellow", this darling little female 4 to 5 week old kitten, in the middle of Front Street, the main street in town.

THE RESCUE OF BEN & SKY

Ben & Sky had been taken to the Dog Pound by their previous owners. No one had adopted them and their time was up at the pound. They faced being euthanized in the gas chamber. S.P.A. send sent out action alerts right up until their D-Day arrived at the pound.

A Gibsonburg man was hunting with his buddies and came across a Chesapeake Bay Retriever lying by the side of the road bleeding. He had apparently been hit by a vehicle and left for dead. The vehicle's tire apparently ran over both of his front legs.
