SARAH is only 5 years old, spade, current on shots, and housebroken! S.P.A. took her in to keep her from being taken to the dog pound. The family she lived with originally lost their home and couldn't take Sarah with them to their new living quarters, so she had to be left behind. They went over to care for her each day, but couldn't continue to provide care for her. No one else was able to help Sarah, so S.P.A. and a WONDERFUL foster home in Tiffin did! Both Sarah and a little beagle named Lucky are in urgent need of forever homes. Lucky's story follows Sarah's.

Thanks to Mary Watcher of Animal Watchers and More, located in Vermilion, Ohio, Roger has found an A-1 PERFECT, FOREVER FAMILY!
Mary was fostering Roger and introduced him to one of her clients and it was love at first site!
Roger is doing very well and adjusted almost immediately to his new family. Way to go Roger!

A compassionate gentleman contacted SPA about a stray cat who urgently needed medical help. He said he had been feeding the cat for the past couple of months (through the coldest part of the winter) in his backyard.

Barbara McGrady of Fremont has received the 2005 Animal Kingdom Kindred Spirit Award from the Doris Day Animal Foundation for founding Society for the Protection of Animals, which under her leadership has promoted community spay/neuter programs aimed at reducing pet overpopulation and rescued, rehabilitated and rehomed hundreds of abused and abandoned dogs and cats.

Barbara McGrady, Sandusky County animal advocate and president of Society for the Protection of Animals, Inc., was the first person in Sandusky County to purchase the Ohio "Pet" license plates.
"Far too many adoptable dogs and cats are being killed in Ohio shelters and pounds every day. The only answer is for people to realize the importance of spaying and neutering their cats and dogs," McGrady said.

Barbara McGrady, president of Society for the Protection of Animals, was contacted at 3:45 p.m. Monday by the Fremont Police. The dispatcher told McGrady that there was a cat stuck near the top of a tree located next to the police station, and several of the officers were concerned the cat might freeze to death.
