FOSTER HOMES NEEDED!

S.P.A. is in URGENT Need of Loving Foster homes.

We are limited in how many animals’ lives we can save by how many foster homes are available. On occasion, in emergency situations, we pay to board cats and/or dogs at our veterinarian’s office when our foster homes are full and there is nowhere for the animal to go. This is not only very costly but not fair to the animal waiting for a loving, forever home, especially when days turn into weeks.

Fostering a rescued animal in your home provides a caring environment for the animals we have rescued until they are adopted to a loving, forever family.

Fostering requires dedication, patience, and commitment. It is, however, an extremely rewarding experience for the entire foster family.

The benefits of fostering a pet are numerous. The animal has an opportunity to live in a more personal and loving setting, as opposed to shelter life.

It also provides a safe and secure place where the pet’s true personality traits can emerge. This observation can be helpful in determining the best environment for placing that particular animal. Most people want to know all they can about their prospective pets before adopting, and families who foster can provide that information.

Another important benefit to animals in foster care is the love, individual attention, and training (if needed) they receive. Fosters experience the joy of knowing the animal will get placed in a good home as S.P.A. is very selective as to where they place each and every rescued animal.

Fostering also provides an opportunity for people to experience various animal breeds, which can assist them in making an informed decision prior to adopting an animal.

Image - Sugar and Honey Need a Foster Home! - Sugar and Honey's owner had to go to assisted living. They were then adopted to a family who had five children, and they anticipated fencing in their yard in this Spring. They are no longer able to do so and have decided two dogs are too much for them to handle with so many children. SO.... Sugar and Honey are hoping to find a foster (OR FOREVER) home with someone who can give them the love and attention they need. They'd do best with older children and prefer a quiet, peaceful home.

Sugar and Honey are very gentle and loving. They are about five years old and fully vetted. They have even both had their teeth cleaned! Please consider fostering these two sweet littermates. We will not separate them. They have been together since the day they were born. If you are interested in Sugar and Honey, please fill out a foster application at www.spaohio.org. LOOK THEM OVER... DON'T OVERLOOK THEM!

If you have other pets in your home and wish to foster an animal, it is important to make sure your pets are current with their shots. You need not worry that your animals and the foster pet will have trouble getting along. In many cases, the transition takes place in a short period of time as the animals learn to live and play together. In short, your life can continue as normal with the addition of a foster pet.
