So far we have received almost $400. Thanks so much! If not for your donations, these animals would not be able to be saved.
The first visit (consultation) will cost between $400 and $600.

PRIOR UPDATE:
Nothing will be able to restore his vision. His eyeballs are shriveling up. They are totally deteriorated. We are hopeful, though, that the severe murmur and enlarged portion of his heart (the left side) will be able to be corrected or helped somehow.
This little guy is so feisty, I wish you could see him. He is sweet as pie, but he has attitude, and I know HE WANTS TO LIVE whether he can see his world or not. He has been blind since birth, so I think he'll be just fine not being able to see.
Dr. Alexander said that OSU told him today that the initial cost will be anywhere between $400-$600. (YIKES!!!)
So far Leonardo has received $110 in donations. Thank you to all those who have donated. Hopefully, more people will donate soon. If the specialists decide to operate, I don't know what we will do. That would probably be over $2,000. Again, we won't know what the next course of action will be until the Dr. at OSU evaluates the radiographs and examines little Leonardo.
So far, we haven't even received enough donations to pay for 1/6 th of the initial visit. No matter what, we will be taking him for this initial visit. Then, based on the OSU specialists findings, we will determine if S.P.A. can proceed with further treatment. We certainly will do what we can, but we are a small organization and don't have thousands of extra dollars.
It would be wonderful if there were a medicine or something other than an expensive surgery to help little Leonardo's heart. That is what I am hoping for.
I will be checking with OSU when we arrive to see if they are willing to accept payments directly. I know some people prefer to make donations directly to the Veterinarian's office or Hospital. They did accept donations for us once before, so hopefully they will agree to do this again.
I am calling for the appointment tomorrow morning, and am expecting to get in sometime next week. The earlier the better.
Thanks so much to all who have donated, and if you don't mind, please share this update with others who might want to know the latest on little Leonardo.
Donations can be made online at www.spaohio.org. Select DONATIONS at the top, and you will be taken directly to our PAYPAL page. We are a 501(c)3, and will be happy to give our EIN number to whomever wishes to claim their donation.
