BRIE - ATTENDED SANDUSKY COUNTY's FREE FUN FAIR FOR CHILDREN!
S.P.A was invited to attend Sandusky County's FREE FUN FAIR. August is Child Support Awareness Month.
A wonderful time was had by all and every child was smiling broadly by the time they visited all of the exhibits!
The Fremont Police Dept., Highway Patrol, and Fire Department were there to offer safety tips and exciting looks at their squad cars and fire trucks.
WSOS had a nice display and handouts for the kids, and several other organizations provided information about recycling, eating healthy, etc.
Denny, Sandusky County Humane Agent, was there with a nice black lab mix that he rescued from the dog pound.
We (S.P.A.) handed out Animal Cookies and coloring book pages of various animals containing helpful tips on how to treat animals.
Also in attendance was our Compassion Education Rescue Dog, Brie! Brie was a big hit with everyone, ESPECIALLY THE CHILDREN!!!

Brie lights up when she is hugged by children!
S.P.A. offers Compassion Education presentations to children of all ages, and Brie is always brought in to be greeted by all of the children at the end of each presentation. She just loves to be petted and hugged!

BRIE IS A LOVING, GENTLE GIRL.
We use her specifically because she is completely trustworthy around children of all ages. She is a pit bull mix. Her temperament is as solid as steel, and she is one of the most even tempered dogs we have ever met.
S.P.A. strongly opposes the ridicules and ignorant pit bull bans that are occurring in various cities across Ohio.

The real problem is with the druggies who acquire pits to protect their stash. They teach them to attack using horrible, abusive methods. So yes, their dogs are dangerous (innocent, but dangerous). But a pit bull is not aggressive by nature, no more than a German Shepherd, a Retriever, a Beagle, a Rottweiler, etc.
Arrest and incarcerate the drug dealers and the problems with pit bulls will cease to exist.

Interesting history trivia: The most decorated war dog in U.S. history was a pit bull named Stubby, during WW1. He earned several medals and the rank of sergeant for his service. He received a hero's welcome and was even honored at the White House. He inspired the U.S. Military K-9 Corps. He also went on to become Georgetown University's mascot. When Pit Bulls enjoyed being the nation's most popular dog during that era, there were no problems with vicious Pit Bull attacks and they were not banned anywhere.
